Learning Together in the Salish Sea Retreat
Dear Friends,

You are invited to the Learning Together in the Salish Sea Retreat in Friday Harbor, Washington on March 9-10, 2019.

This event is being co-hosted by Whiteswan Environmental, Friends of the San Juans, Children of the Setting Sun Productions, and Community Engagement Fellows.

Goal: The goal of the retreat is to advance learning partnerships in the Salish Sea Region across organizations, sectors, and political, cultural, and geographic boundaries.

Participants: The retreat is intended for educators who work in a variety of settings in different parts of the Salish Sea Region. We hope to include people working in government, school districts, higher education, non-governmental organizations, etc.

Format: The retreat will be an active social learning space that allows participants to build relationships and gain knowledge about each other's work. It will include paired conversations, design clinics (click here for a description), and other energizing group activities.

Location(s): Once we finalize the number of participants we will confirm meeting locations in Friday Harbor.

Logistics:

There is no registration fee for the retreat. Our goal is to create a mutually beneficial learning space for all.

Participants should plan to arrange their own transport to Friday Harbor and lodging, as needed, and anticipate paying for all meals except Saturday's lunch (provided by co-hosts).

We encourage those traveling to Friday Harbor from off island to make a ferry reservation soon. Here are helpful links: Washington State Ferry Reservations and BC Ferries Reservations.

Once the roster of participants is finalized, we will discuss opportunities for carpooling and shared lodging, and other logistical details.

RSVP/Questions:

If you would like to attend, RSVP to Travis.Tennessen@wwu.edu by Friday, February 1 at 5:00 pm.
Please send questions to Travis as well.

Feel free to share this invitation with your contacts. All are welcome.
