Community Based Participatory Research/Community Engagement Research (CBPR/CEnR)
In partnering to achieve the collective vision of developing a Coast Salish Tribal Heritage Field Institute, it is imperative that WE develop trust with our partners as WE initiate Indigenous-led projects. Healing from historical trauma events is critical to cultural resurgence. WE are asking our partners to help us ensure there is a commitment to collective empowerment that engages equity as we bridge relationships.
WE are working on understanding how partnerships function successfully to achieve shared goals and project outcomes. These methodologies to engage equity are being integrated into our Spirit of the Sxwo'le (SOS) Coalition Bylaws and Memorandum of Agreements to achieve resilience and responsibility for racial and environmental justice.
Board member Bonnie Duran is helping WE develop structural interventions that create equitable working environments using the Community Based Participatory Research and Community Engagement Research (CBPR/CEnR).
