In 2016, President Obama signed and sent San Juan Island Presidential Proclamation 8947 thanking us for our shared commitment to the environment and putting our children’s futures first. The 20 year Resource Management Plan is to protect and restore objects of value. A Coast Salish Tribal Heritage Field Institute would meet this goal, providing place to ceremonial potlatch, creating incentives to steward fisheries and community resources for 7th generation sustainability.
