House of Healing House of Learning Longhouse Restoration
Houses of Healing, Houses of Learning Longhouse Restoration supports the development and creation of culturally safe places for Indigenous communities to heal and to teach history, culture, governance, and language to our next generations.
To support Whiteswan Environmental’s vision of a Coast Salish Tribal Heritage Field Institute, WE propose House of Healing House of Learning Longhouse restoration begin at our old ancestral village sites: 

  • Pe’pi’ow’elh, English Camp, San Juan Island National Historical Parks
  • Lhe lhin q'welh, Henry Island, San Juan County Land Bank
  • Xwotqwem/ Whatcom Creek, Bellingham, WA as part of the Phase 2 development of the Port of Bellingham Bay Waterfront Sub-Area Plan and City of Bellingham (COB) Cultural Heritage Tourism Strategic Plan 2018-2022. WE are engaging the SJI NPS and COB officials to support the proposal that this opportunity zone tract 53073000600 Maritime Heritage Park area be designated as a satellite National Historical Park and the Parberry site become an international district that supports knowledge democracy and respect for each other's language and culture.
